(31/08/10) Liberal Democrat Health Minister Paul Burstow says the new NHS 111 service will benefit patients. The Coalition Government announced the intention to establish NHS 111 in the Health White Paper in July. The new service is being piloted in four areas before being rolled out in 2013:

(15/08/10) Details unearthed by Lib Dem councillors at the Town Hall, show the Tory controlled City Council, last year, handed over their IT department to a private company, as part of a £44m contract, lasting for eleven years!:

(13/08/10) For over two years, Lib Dems on Peterborough City Council have been calling for the Tory controlled authority to scrap their publication ‘YOUR PETERBOROUGH’, now the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, conservative MP, Eric Pickles has blasted councils newspapers, claiming too many councils were spending money on publicising their own activities:

(11/08/10) Information passed to this website, shows the City Council acknowledging that "The Cathedral Square element of the works was delivered around three months later than the original contract completion date of the end of March..”, and that only some of the St John's Square work will be “…completed by mid-September which is six months after the original contract completion date.” Liberal Democrats at the Town Hall who have been monitoring the fiasco, say they believe local people deserve answers:

(18/08/10) A former Peterborough City Council Arboricultural Officer, has contacted Lib Dem councillors at the Town Hall, claiming the Tory controlled City Council are set to remove all the willow trees, on the Embankment. Senior Lib Dems say they suspect this latest news is due to the local authority “…pursuing a campaign of mass destruction against the natural environment in Peterborough....”:

(16//08/10) Peterborough City Council could be set to loose its in-house legal department, following recent discussions and the signing of an agreement with Cambridgeshire County Council to develop a shared services arrangement. Lib Dems on the City Council say more questions need to be asked before anything is finalised:
