PETERBOROUGH LIB DEMS CONDEMN MARCH BY ‘RACIST’ EDL

(08/12/10) As reported in the local media, the English Defence League are set to march from the Peterborough United ground on London Road down to Peterborough Magistrates’ Court, in Lower Bridge Street on Saturday, December 11th. The event has been described by Muhammed Ikram, Peterborough Liberal Democrats Ethnic Minorities Coordinator as an “..attempt to stir up racial tensions..”:






GCGP LEP GETS GO AHEAD

Basically, the City Council has now announced (at no surprise) that the Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Local Enterprise Partnership (GC GP LEP) bid has this week been given the green light to proceed by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS). (08/10/10) This time it is a report in the Guardian, that shows Peterborough City Council, who are aspiring to be the Environmental Capital of the UK, came top for issuing fixed penalty notices for littering – it issued 3,110 in 2008/09. In contrast, only one notice was issued in Derbyshire and in nearby Cambridge it was 50. So either we have too much rubbish or not enough bins?:
