LIB DEMS WILL FIGHT WEST WARD!
Posted on Sunday, November 15 @ 12:42:04 GMT by

Campaigns (15/11/09) Following the recent announcement that there is to be a by-election in West Ward, Peterborough Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce their candidate and local resident, Ginny McDermid:

Spurned on by recent issues effecting her local area and a growing list of failures by the City Council, Ginny (pictured) decided to stand up and be counted. Her papers are in and now her neighbours have the option to vote for a hard working, decent and honest candidate!

So ……….who are you?

Name: Ginny McDermid?
Background: Grew up in North London (Wood Green).
Married: Yes! Got married in 1973……still married to Jim, who I met at school! Had 2 children. Was a stay at home Mum for 10 years until both children went to school.
Moved to Peterborough: In 1989 when Pearl relocated.
Additional Details:
- I swam at Middlesex and Southern Counties level.
- Left school and went to Technical College, gained qualifications in catering.
- Employed as a cook for directors of Marks and Spencer at head office in Baker Street, London.
- I have an interest in horticulture, which led me to work at Notcutts and Waterside Garden Centres as their plant expert.
- Now work for an organisation that supports amateur opera and drama societies.

Final Comment:

“I love living in Longthorpe, it is has retained its village feel. The residents are really passionate about protecting the area and ensuring that it remains a nice place to live.

“They don't want cars racing through along Thorpe Road. They don't want unsightly telephone masts that grow unabated. They don't want antisocial behaviour making areas of Peterborough in to no-go areas - they want a Peterborough to be proud of!”
