In 2015, there were 2,790 applicants in Peterborough, on the local housing waiting list, in 2016, this has risen to 3,359 in 2016. A rise of OVER 17% … And I expect this figure to have grown for 2017! In addition, official figures last year showed 588 homes in Peterborough were empty for over six months. The Council has now announced that a restructure of Peterborough City Council’s senior management team has now been completed. The council’s Employment Committee met last Thursday (12 February 2015) and interviewed for the four new posts which form part of the new structure. As a result, the city council has announced that the following people will take up the new posts from Monday 2 March 2015: Wendi Ogle-Welbourn has been appointed Corporate Director: People and Communities with a salary of £135,000. Cross Keys Homes has announced Claire Higgins will be their new Chief Executive, replacing Mick Leggett (pictured). Claire was only appointed Deputy Chief Executive earlier this year. Claire has worked for Cross Keys Homes since it was formed, following the transfer of its housing stock from Peterborough City Council in 2004. Christine Cunningham, Chair of the new Residents’ Board, who was also on the recruitment panel, said: “Claire’s appointment is great news for Cross Keys Homes and its tenants. People are being asked to comment on an application to designate Castor as a neighbourhood area which would enable the local community to play a greater part in planning for the future of the area. Peterborough City Council has received the application from Castor Parish Council, which is the first stage in putting together a neighbourhood development plan or neighbourhood development order. It follows earlier applications from Bretton Parish Council, Deeping Gate Parish Council, Glinton Parish Council, Northborough Parish Council and Peakirk Parish Council that were all approved by the city council in 2013.
