The Liberal Democrats would add another £1 billion for mental ill health care through putting a penny on income tax. This would equate to approximately £14,000,000 of additional health funding being spent in Cambridgeshire tackling the “historic injustice” faced by people with mental ill health. @LibDems welcome FGM national action plan

Liberal Democrats welcome a report published today by the Home Affairs Select Committee calling for a national action plan to end this abhorrent form of abuse.  The report calls for greater anonymity for victims and protection orders to safeguard girls from being taken abroad.  Liberal Democrat Crime Prevention Minister Norman Baker said: “Female Genital Mutilation is a criminal offence, and it is child abuse.
