Budget 2015 packed with Liberal Democrat policies

This Budget is packed full of policies that deliver Liberal Democrat priorities: Help for lower and middle income earners by increasing the Personal Allowance by further £200 so that from April 2016 the tax threshold increases to £10,800 and from April 2017 to £11,000. By 2017/2018, 27.2 million workers will have benefited from increases in the personal allowance and we will have lifted over 3.7 million out of income tax altogether. “Last year 872 people were injured on #Peterborough’s roads” – Get your free pre-winter vehicle check!

Motorists are being offered the chance to get their vehicles checked for free before the arrival of winter thanks to a scheme being run by the SaferPeterborough partnership in conjunction with Halfords. Experienced technicians from Halfords will be carrying out checks on vehicles at the Car Haven car park on Bishop’s Road, Peterborough, on Monday 18 November and Monday 25 November from 11am to 1pm. People are invited to take their cars along for a free check which will take around five minutes.
