Give £527 pay rise to nurses in Peterborough to address staffing shortages

  Liberal Democrats would end years of pay restraint for nurses, teachers and police in Cambridgeshire by lifting the 1% cap on public sector pay and increases wages in line with inflation. Under our plans, around 2,225 teachers working in Peterborough would receive an average pay rise of £894 over the next few years, while the 1,339 police working for Cambridgeshire would see their pay boosted by £471. The plans would also lead to an estimated pay rise of £527 for 1,012 nurses working for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, helping to tackle the shortage of nurses and potential strikes in the coming years.
