Government spending on schools is set to drop for the first time since the 1990’s

The  Institute for Fiscal Studies say that schools funding has been well protected for the last two decades but this is set to drop by 6.5% in real terms over the course of this parliament. The National Governors’ Association said that the money being provided by Government simply isn’t enough to educate our children. “The Department for Education unfortunately doesn’t know how much it costs to educate a pupil whether it be a primary or secondary pupil,” Emma Knights, the association’s chief executive, on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. PETERBOROUGH’S LACK OF PARKING SAFETY RESOURCES

Parking around all Schools in Peterborough is very limited and unfortunately; due to the lack of parking it has presented a large problem for many years. However; a significant issue is arising due to people parking not only illegally but irresponsibly…meanwhile putting Children’s lives at risks. If you follow my FACEBOOK page or blog you may have seen my many posts regarding the issues that are appearing and being reported in the Gunthorpe Ward.  When these issues started arising I noticed these brilliant banners at a different Primary School. Ofsted Report says, #Peterborough “pupils attending a good or better primary school, is well below average.”

Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills, have now published their latest Local authority school improvement inspection report for Peterborough. The Tory controlled City Council are focusing, unsurprisingly, on the report’s mention that attempts for improvement in Peterborough are considered as being “effective”, BUT, what they are neglecting to address publicly is the heavy criticism made in relation to most of the actual targets and standards that pupils should be reaching or receiving.
