New measures worth £530,000 will be invested in order to encourage students to register to vote, Liberal Democrats in government have revealed. The plan is that the National Union of Students will be allocated funding to run a national competition for student unions to find the best ideas to get students to sign up to the electoral register. The best ideas will receive up to £10,000 to fund events or other projects proposed by student unions across the country.
