Armed Forces Day Civic Parade
Mayor of Peterborough and Mayoress, alongside Deputy Mayor of Peterborough, Cllr Andrew Bond, and Deputy Mayoress, Cllr Jade Seager, were proud to attend this year's Armed Forces Day Civic Parade, joining veterans, serving personnel, cadets, military organisations and members of the community in recognising the dedication and sacrifice of the Armed Forces.
The parade provided a fitting opportunity to pay tribute to those who have served, and those who continue to serve, while celebrating the strong connection between the Armed Forces and the local community.
Following the parade, visitors enjoyed a fun-filled day featuring fantastic live music, a wide variety of stalls and activities for all ages. The event created a wonderful atmosphere, bringing people together to celebrate, reflect and show their appreciation for the Armed Forces.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Andrew Bond said:
"Armed Forces Day is an important opportunity to recognise the courage, commitment and sacrifice of our servicemen and women, veterans and their families. It was a privilege to take part in the civic parade and to see so many people come together in support. The fantastic music, community stalls and family activities made for a wonderful day, and it was heartening to see such strong support from across Peterborough."
The Mayor, Mayoress, Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayoress thanked everyone involved in organising the event and all those who attended, helping to make Armed Forces Day a memorable occasion for the city.
